Creating an integration with eBay is pretty straight forward and only takes a few minutes to do.
We recommend reading the eBay Channel Configuration guide after the eBay channel has been created which explains all of the configuration settings within the channel.
Creating the Sales Channel
From within the Channels module choose New to start the New Sales Channel Wizard and then choose eBay from the drop down list. Then select Next.
On the second screen enter the eBay User ID for the eBay account you wish to integrate with. This is case sensitive and needs to be exact. Click out of the eBay ID field or hit the tab key to move out of this field. This will activate the Create eBay Authorisation Token button. Press this button to be redirected to eBay to enable the authorisation.
Log into your eBay account.
After logging in simply select the "I agree" button, then return back to the Tradebox software.
When you go back to Tradebox you will see the following box. Simply click on OK to generate the eBay Token in the software.
After selecting OK you will see that your token has been created which securely links your eBay account to Tradebox. If you are selling across ALL sites leave the Site as the default setting or choose a specific eBay marketplace. Next choose the currency your eBay sales occur in. Then choose Next.
Note - If you sell across multiple eBay marketplaces in multiple currencies but have set up a single sales channel to download from all sites, foreign currency orders will be automatically converted to GBP. This will use the exchange rate as specified in the Currencies screen. By default Tradebox will use today's exchange rate for all orders downloaded today, regardless of the date of the order.
The next page deals with importing your products into Tradebox. If this isn't applicable then you can simply click on Finish. There are 3 options on the wizard:
Map Existing Product Records
If ticked, Tradebox will automatically create a mapping between existing product records in Tradebox and the product SKUs that are downloaded in the eBay orders. On eBay the product SKU is contained in the Custom Label field. The automatic mapping will only work where the SKU in the Custom Label field and the SKU in the Tradebox product match exactly. If the Custom Label is blank the mapping will fail. Existing mappings can be amended and new mappings created at any time via Products > Mapping.
Import Product Details From Listings
This option downloads all active eBay listings and creates products in Tradebox. If you are planning on using Tradebox to upload stock levels from eBay, we highly recommend choosing this option as it will fill in the Listing IDs on your products, which are required for the upload.
Import Product Details from File
This allows the user to import products into Tradebox using a predefined CSV product Template.
Click Finish to complete the wizard.
Once the Sales Channel wizard is complete you can add more settings and adjust existing settings inside the channel record. See the Channel Configuration article for more information.
